Family Togetherness

Another tradition---family pictures.

Family Traditions

Taffy Puller Extraordinare! Grandpa Rick aka "My Dad" has been pulling taffy for years! (He learned from his grandparents.) The grandchildren go crazy for it! He has this crazy notion that we should wrap it, but it usually gets eaten long before it can get wrapped! Thanks, Dad.

Last of School

I got the idea for the signs from a blog "Secrets of a Super Mommy." We had a special breakfast of chocolate waffles with Reddi-Whip and fruit smoothies on the last day of school. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain!! So much for "summer" weather. Oh Well! We still played, "Oh What do you Do in the Summertime?" over and over till it was time to catch the bus.

Little person makes big mess

Why are messes cute when your one year old makes them? I walked around the corner to put something away, when I heard the cereal box open and the contents fly. Kix must feel fun on the bottom of tiny feet. Jeff thought we could just "recycle" the cereal after I swept it up...I know how much traffic this floor gets in between moppings. EEK!

Track Construction

This is the bulldozer and the bulldozer driver (one of Evan's youth leaders) who helped create his dirtbike track. Now I just need a picture of the completed track with Evan testing it out!

You are my Sunshine

Another rainy, cold day. After we did our Saturday jobs, we wandered around Wal-Mart, looking at toys to our hearts content. I found these darling baby sunglasses for Adam. Now, if we just had some sun...

Matthew cleans the tractor with Grandpa

While Adam was mowing the lawn at Grandma's house, Matthew helped Grandpa clean the tractor.

Adam Learns to Mow the Lawn

A birthday gift from Grandma Jo. Thanks, Grandma. I will mow your lawn first.

Tim for Treasurer

Tim is the new Treasurer for the 5th grade K-Kids Club for the 2010-2011 school year. (It is a service club sponsored by the Kiwanis.) I wish you could see his poster better. In the corner, it says "Equal Housing Lender." I asked him why he put that on his poster. He told me it's because he's seen it at all the banks. He also put a long division problem right below that. He wanted people to know that he's good at math and he will take good care of their money.

The Brothers

When we brought Adam home from the hospital a year ago, we had all the boys pose around the car seat with the teeny tiny new infant. Now, here we are celebrating his first birthday. He didn't think the cake was that great, just squishy.

Grandma Jo's New Bike

My mother-in-law is such a fun lady! This is her trying out her new bike on Mothe's day.

Adam's First Birthday/Mother's Day

Some years Adam's birthday will fall on Mother's Day. What a perfect gift!

Doctor of Pharmacy

My brother, Morgan, graduated from ISU on May 8th. We are proud of him and his cute family! Way to go, Morgan!

I'll take it

Matthew told me he had a surprise for me in his bedroom. A love note in legos! How thrilling! I'll take it anyway their precious hearts express it!

Grandma Connie Passes Away

The boys' great grandma passed away April 17, 2010. She liked to comment on how much Adam was growing each time she saw him. Thank you so much to my kind and loving parents who took care of her in their home for the last 18 months of her life.

Hard working returned missionary

My brother, Spence, who recently returned home from his mission, is a VERY hard worker. He has been doing some painting for us. Not only is he a hard worker, but he is a great problem solver. He built this platform to go over the stairs so he could paint the wall above our stairs. Matthew was just itchin' to try it, but the cautious mom in me wouldn't allow it! Thanks, Spence. We appreciate all your help.

Oscar the Grouch or Groucho Marx?

At our last pack meeting we cleaned up trash around the church. I thought it would be cute to serve Oscar the Grouch cupcakes. However, none of the kids recognized my artistic work! Sadly, once we told them who the cupcakes were supposed to represent, they still said, "Who's that?" What is this world coming to when children don't know characters from Sesame Street?? As a side note, frosting faces do not adhere very well to coconut. Oh well, I had fun creating them!

A day at Baker Caves.

Its time for a snack break!!

Baby in the Freezer

Before Adam was born, we thought it would be a great idea to give Matthew a baby doll to play with to get him accustomed to the idea of a baby in the house. It was not well received. Today we found the baby in the freezer. Thankfully, it wasn't the real baby!!! Matthew actually really and truly loves his little brother. He loves to play with him.

Our family on a recent trip to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Adam - Eleven Months old! Almost walking...

It is so fun to see the growth and change from month to month of a child during their first year of life! I was hoping Adam would leave the sign alone and walk towards me with his new wobbly steps.

New Freshman Class President for 2010-2011

Evan had a little more competition this year. His running mate was a cute girl! (She is

on his left.) The gal on his right is his vice president and the young lady on Evan's far left is his secretary. Congratulations Evan!

Easter Weekend

WOW! This was the sight we saw from our front windows Saturday, April 3, but now a week later, there are only patches of snow left. But the wind is always present!! (The wind tore our safety enclosure apart last year.)

Jumping across the BIG Hole!

WOW! That's all I can say about that! WOW!

Cost of Digging a BIG hole to play in=Nothing...Watching your son have fun=Priceless

Matt started digging a hole to play in with a shovel. Before long, we hear Jeff bringing the backhoe down the road.

Famous Inventor~Famous Kids

Tim aka Thomas Edison with his cousin, "Harry Houdini" at their "Night of the Notables." Each student in the Discovery program presented a famous person from history. They gave the audience clues and a short speech. Good Job, Tim!

WE'RE BACK!

After a long hiatus, the editors of the Miller Family blog are back! Some people, whose initials are KTK think we need to post a little more frequently. You know how it is when you get behind in your journal, and you just keep putting off writing because you're so behind? That's how I've felt about our blog. But never mind, let's just jump into the present!

I could blame my lapse on having a new baby, almost a year ago, but that's not really true. I just got out of the habit of posting.
